Centre for Career Guidance and Psychological Counseling
Starting with 1st of June 2009 in UMF "Carol Davila" works the Centre for Psychological Counseling and Career Guidance.
Target groups: students of the fac. of Medicine, students of the fac. of Dentistry, students of the fac. of Pharmacy, students of FMAM and other interested persons.
The students and the interested people can access the Centre services free of charge every Thursday between the hours: 13:00 - 15:00
Location - Faculty of General Medicine, Bd. Eroilor Sanitari nr. 8, 1st Floor, Medical Psychology Department / History of Medicine and Pharmacy "Carol Davila" headquarters.
Directions for career counseling and guidance:
1. adjustment problems in the academic life;
2. interpersonal and relationship problems;
3. performance, intellectual , socio-professional and relationship anxiety;
4. psychosocial support and career guidance.
Areas of intervention:
1. specialized interventions in crisis situations (academic failure, intellectual / emotional overloading, circumstantial stress, chronic stress, moral / material losses, mourning, separation, divorce, financial and economic crisis, etc.).
2. psycho-medical approach to bad eating habits, eating disorders (overweight, obesity, bulimia, anorexia, etc.).
3. counseling, psychological support and information for choosing medical specialties;
4. assertiveness training in order to clarify the options for overcoming stress and specific medical specialty examinations in general and current residency exam in particular.
