ERASMUS / SOCRATES Programme

ERASMUS - European Region Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students - is part of the SOCRATES Community education and includes actions designed to encourage and promote the mobility of students and teachers in the European Union. This program aims to meet the EU's strategic objective contained in the Lisbon agenda that "Europe has become the most competitive and dynamic economy based on knowledge, capable of sustainable economic growth with more jobs and greater social cohesion”. .

ERASMUS programme has several objectives:
1. improving quality and increasing mobility of students and teachers so that the number of exchanges in Europe be made 3 million by 2012
2. improving quality and increasing the number of multilateral cooperation between higher education institutions in Europe
3. improvement and increased cooperation between higher education institutions and enterprises / companies
4. dissemination of innovative concepts and teaching techniques between universities in Europe
