In the worldwide classification of universities the age matters less, but it is known that the Romanian universities have still something to do to enter the Top 500.

The University "Carol Davila" has a total of 2865 employees of which 1654 teachers and its courses are attended in the 2009-2010 academic year by 4634 students.
Our university has been, is and will be a special place, both laden with tradition and innovative spirit. It was here where the Nobel laureate for Medicine George Emil Palade, our Honorary President studied and taught. In addition to this illustrious Romanian single winner of a Nobel Prize, it should be remembered and recognized personalities in the other branches of medical science, as Thoma Ionescu, Ion Cantacuzino, Victor Babes, George Marinescu and many other brilliant minds who continue to stimulate the formation by our school of high level specialists in the fields of health care, education and scientific research.
Our teachers were trained in succession, carrying the torch of our noble purpose to our time preparing generation after generation of doctors who have been stood vigil at the Romanian people's health.
It is the main purpose of our work – the didactism - perhaps the most important facet of the business school.
As, among many other directions that the school follows, scientific research, a real support of the change vectors, is another top concern, perennial, of the University.
From the scientific articles published in Romanian and foreign journals, to the publication of valuable books, in various fields, it is clearly focused the constant effort on fundamental and applied scientific research. And the examples that can be given here are numerous.
Our school has a rich and of quality books collection. The University Library has 578,159 volumes (representing the new fund of Romanian and foreign books), including numerous copies of old and valuable books (589 book titles representing foreign heritage - sec. XV-XVIII and 4385 titles representing the fund "History of Medicine") over 20,000 titles acquired through subscriptions in paper and online. It is also assured the access of our students from Medicine at numerous international databases.
The University benefits from the activity of the reputable "Carol Davila" academic Publishing House which successfully contributes to the new medical book publishing, as well as a valuable magazine "Journal of Medicine and Life", whose pages are open for you.
Many laboratories with modern equipment are available in the preclinical departments and the clinics from Bucharest helping you to complete your formation and to participate actively in the construction of the medical act, in all the medical specialties.
Therefore, we can say that we have sufficient provision to meet the desideratum of "Creativity, Innovation and Initiative."

In this responsible point of view, our university has available, on merit, a budget of 5,509,535 lei for scholarships.
We have an accommodation fund totaling 3911 seats.

Regarding the evaluations, I am convinced that our university through its management will ensure the right evaluation.
I cannot guarantee the absence of corruption, which I firmly reject, but I believe, however, that it is modest and you can help us eliminate it.

License once taken, must be a reason for entry into the specialty training in residency.
The Residency Training belongs again to the Medical School that has to overturn its speech, to lead it to the preparation of skilled specialists.
Once became specialists, physicians should be looked with confidence, appreciated throughout Europe for their work so that the free movement of people and professionals won’t mean only the fulfillment of desire for knowledge, leisure time or passion to travel.
